*For e-transfer payments, select the "off-line" payment option during registration and immediately send e-transfer to [email protected].   Please include the player's full name and age group in the notes
E-transfers must be received within 1 week of the online registration being submitted in order to hold a spot on the team.

WHAT EQUIPMENT DOES MY CHILD NEED?

All players will need a baseball glove, cleats (non-metal) or running shoes, and a helmet with a chin strap.

A jock (or jill for female players) is also recommended.  Teams will be provided with several bats that can be used by all players, but everyone will have a slightly different preference with respect to length and weight, so you may wish to purchase one that is the correct size/weight for your child.

Softball players are required to have a facemask attached to their batting helmet. This is permitted for hardball, but not a requirement.

Softball pitchers must wear a fielding mask (optional for other positions).  One mask will be provided by the team, but some players wish to have their own.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SOFTBALL AND BASEBALL?

In Softball (sometimes referred to as Fast Pitch) the pitcher throws the ball underhand, using a windmill arm motion. In Baseball (sometimes referred to as Hardball) the pitcher throws the ball overhand, as you would see at a Blue Jays game.

Another of the main differences is the ball itself.  Softballs are larger than baseballs - 11" or 12" (depending on the age group) vs a 9" ball for baseball.  This impacts how the ball is gripped, thrown, and the flight of the ball when it is hit by a batter.
