Arthur U13 Girls Reach Finals in O.R.S.A. Provincial Championship
The Arthur U13 girls select team travelled to Norwich last weekend, to compete for the O.R.S.A. Provincial title.  The Twisters performed very well in their first Provincial tournament, finishing 2nd out of 8 teams.

Arthur opened the tournament on Friday night with a convincing 5-2 win over Ingersoll.

The girls from Arthur looked equally impressive on Saturday morning, downing the hosts from Norwich-Otterville by a 12-2 margin.  Later in the day, the Twisters had a tough outing in their 3rd game of the tournament, losing 13-1 to a very strong team from Innerkip.

The Twisters rebounded on Sunday, defeating Ingersoll 6-4 in the semifinals, to set up a rematch against Innerkip.  Unfortunately, the Innerkip squad was too much for Arthur to handle, claiming the Provincial crown with a 13-6 win.

The Arthur coaches are extremely proud of the girls, who showed they can compete at the highest level.

Longtime Twisters coach Jeff McKee had the following advice to the team, as they contemplate their future as a team, "you need to have a look at the mountain first, so you can decide if you want to try to climb it".

We are hopeful that this team can stay together, and further develop their skills.  Perhaps one day they will take a shot at "climbing the mountain" otherwise known as the PWSA (Provincial Women's Softball Association of Ontario)

Congratulations girls!
